🏰 Munich's Famous Glockenspiel at Marienplatz 🔔 During our recent trip to Munich for Oktoberfest, Jeff and I were able to time a visit to the Glockenspiel at Marienplatz for the 5pm performance. Despite the rain, it was truly beautiful and definitely worth seeing if you visit the area. This iconic clock is housed in the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus), a stunning Neo-Gothic building completed in 1905 and designed by architect Georg von Hauberrisser, who was only 25 when his design was selected.

POV: Walking Tour -The Munich glockenspiel is a large mechanical clock in the tower of the Neues Rathaus (New Town Hall) in Marienplatz, which performs shows of 32 life-size figures re-enacting historical events from the 16th century.
